Where are you from?
Born and bred in Chicago baby.
Who takes your photos?
My dad takes almost all my photos. He’s self-taught and extremely talented, if I do say so myself.
What camera do you use?
We use a Canon 70D camera body and a Canon 50mm prime lens for most shots. We use a Canon EF-S 10-18mm wide-angle lens for interior shots.
Why’d you start this blog?
I started The Imperfectionist because I desperately needed a creative outlet (bet you haven’t heard THAT one before). I also wanted to create a space for us to be a little more honest and authentic with one another. I’m a sucker for falling down the comparison-trap rabbit hole and forgetting that imperfections are actually what make life interesting. My favorite rooms, outfits, art, people, you name it, are all imperfect – they all have something just a tad off. And that’s what makes them fascinating! I figured instead of focusing all my time and energy on pursuing perfection, why not cultivate some appreciation for the imperfections instead?
Do you blog full time?
Hell to the no. I work a typical 9-5 job and also am pursuing my degree in interior design at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago.
Where do you live?
I live in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago with my husband, Tom.
What is Filter Free Friday?
Good question. You can read all about that here.
Favorite food?
Anything I don’t have to cook.
Biggest flaw?
Starting something I never finish.
Biggest asset?
