It is currently 8° Fahrenheit in Chicago.
So yeah, there’s that.
Needless to say, these pics from over a month ago feature a happy, bubbly, smiling Kira, who is nowhere to be found today. No, today’s Kira is outfitted head to toe in winter gear, looking somewhat like a homeless person (THANKS A LOT CHIBERIA).
I’m starting to believe there is simply no way to be stylish during winters in Chicago (remember this post?!). Sleeping bag coats, snow boots fit for Mt. Everest, hats, scarves, mittens… the list goes on. It takes me ten extra minutes just to get out the door in the morning.
BUNDLE UP, BUTTERCUP.
Anyway, this post is supposed to be about a color, not a climate. I know I’m not the first to hop on the blush bandwagon, but I’m officially riding it and damn it feels good to be a gangsta.
If we were decorating our home this year, I may even consider a blush/cream palette. I love how soft yet subtly rich the color is, especially when paired with a cozy, luxurious texture like velvet. I think it would make for a killer holiday party outfit. A blush blouse paired with a simple black miniskirt, black tights, and black booties would be a showstopper in my book. Unexpected, yet festively on-point. Add some sparkly earrings and a touch of pink lipstick and voila, CHRISTMAS CHIC.
What other non-traditional colors do you like to wear during the holidays? And if you live in Chicago, pray tell, WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO SURVIVE THIS COLD?
