If you’re a skipper/skimmer/scanner here is the one thing you need to take away from this post: go out and get yourself this dress because I swear to goodness, it is perfection.
Now, for those of you more invested in my uber high-quality writing on the topic of women’s fashion, let’s move onto all the reasons I am practically worshiping at the altar of this dress.
A) It is as soft as a baby’s bottom (or Emma’s belly, which is pretty freaking soft). Like the kind of softness that makes you want to wrap yourself up in a cocoon of fabric and take the world’s longest nap. It isn’t stiff, it actually moves with your body, and it’s fully lined, so no accidental peep shows. It feels like a nightgown (though honestly I haven’t worn a nightgown since I was 12, so maybe I’m remembering nightgowns with an inaccurate sense of nostalgia?) but carries the effortless style of east-coast-chic. All I need is a yacht and I’m good to go. Oh don’t mind me, just casually lounging on my yacht in this extra-soft but oh-so-stylish ruffled dress.
B) Blue stripes FTW. You know I love me my blue stripes, and this little number is no exception. I’m actually starting to think I have a legit addiction to blue stripes. Is that a thing? Because I have that.
C) RUFFLES.
D) It’s the perfect shape. It’s technically a shift dress, so it’s verrrrrrrry forgiving (and so comfy!). The ruffles are the perfect amount and placed oh-so-strategically. They add volume for a small bust and hide a larger bust. Also, length = spot on.
E) $29 people!
Also, let’s take just a brief moment to chat about this brand, Abercrombie & Fitch. What the what? Where did you come from, my semi-slutty-parading-as-hippie-chic high school past?! It’s back, and it is so. damn. good. No more belly shirts and ripped jeans – now it’s all eyelet and blue stripes and gingham. Brilliant.
I’ve got a full weekend (what else is new) but it’s all such wonderful stuff going on! We’ve got my cousin’s first holy communion tomorrow (omg she is adorable in her little white dress), then hopefully hanging with Kelly and Emma while Mitch is out of town. Then I’ve got a much anticipated coffee date with Maya and Claire on Sunday! I can’t wait. Hope you’re also looking forward to whatever you’ve got planned – it’s even supposed to be SUNNY 😉
