One of the perks of having an office job is getting to play dress-up. I often wish I had a job where I worked primarily from home. But when I actually pause to think about it, I imagine I’d have a hard time getting out of my sweatpants. And if I spend all day in my sweatpants, chances are I won’t feel very good about myself by the end of the day. There is a direct correlation between the effort I put into dressing myself and how confident I feel.
Enter these fun blue suede shoes (old, but similar here). I can’t say they’re comfy, but they make me feel as vibrant as they look. And a sleek pencil skirt always helps me feel pulled together and chic, even when I’m really just a hot mess behind the façade. Toss a crisp, black blazer on top and you’ve got instant class.
I’m also a major fan of a red lip. Red lipstick instantly adds that je ne sais quoi. You can literally wear it with anything – jeans, ball gown, even athleisure.
What are your favorite confidence boosters? Any tips or tricks for putting a little pep in your step, when you’d rather be sitting on the couch in sweatpants? Or am I the only one who struggles with the gravitational pull of those suckers?
