I pretty much want to be Amelia Canham Eaton when I grow up.
She was headed for the corporate law world when she found her inner creative self and somehow managed to transition seamlessly into the interior design world. She’s crushing it with both commercial and residential projects, and officially launched her new site earlier this year. Here is a glimpse into her River North home, but I encourage you to check out more of her work here.
Some people just have it, you know? The eye, the style, that je ne sais quoi. Clearly Amelia has it in droves. Her newest undertaking has me so excited to see what’s in store for this lady. Whatever it is, it’s gonna be good.
In other news, how were your holidays?! Ours were great. Spending time with Tess was so special. We found her wedding dress (omg, she is gonna be the most beautiful bride EVER), and had the best Christmas Eve dinner with friends and family. We stayed in our pajamas all day long on Christmas day, watched movies, lounged by the fire, and drank endless cups of wassel. It was cozy and magical and I wish I could go back! New Year’s Eve we went to our friend Tina’s wedding in Springfield, which was a total blast. I spent New Years day curled up on the couch watching TV and eating cereal out out the box. Glamorous, I know.
Now it feels like I officially have to go back to reality and I have to say, I’m not in the mood. For me, post-holiday blues are a real thing, and that coupled with Tess returning to Italy is leaving me feeling empty and sad. Plus, it’s still dark and cold and now that Christmas is over there is no longer a light at the end of the tunnel. God this is starting to sound REAL depressing. Not trying to be a downer, but I do try to maintain transparency on this blog. And the truth is, I’m just feeling a little down after the holiday hype. I’m hoping getting back into my daily routine will sort of level me off and get me feeling grounded and sane again.
Do you guys experience the post-holiday blues? How do you typically cope? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
P.S. Today is the last day of the Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale! My picks are this favorite sweater (for a song), these perforated booties, this cashmere beret (omg want), these black leather booties, this adorable flannel shirt dress, this versatile sweater, this drawstring tote, this cute beanie (still plenty of winter left), and this cashmere scarf. Happy New Year friends 😉
