One of my favorite Chicago designers, and a showstopper at this year’s Lake Forest Show House, Michael del Piero knows how to make my heart sing.
I love how she uses layers and textures to create a complex yet approachable space. She clearly has a deep appreciation for the most interesting found objects, and her unique style has earned her recognition nation-wide. I was lucky enough to hear her speak on a panel at last year’s Chicago Design Summit, and she was equal parts inspiring and educational.
What do you think? Are you drawn to her style as much as I am?
In other news, how’s your Monday morning going? Did you have a good weekend? Ours was nice – it felt good to be back home and to see friends and get back into the swing of things (though I’m still totally missing Florence!). We packed it in, managing to hit the farmer’s market early Saturday morning before I met dad for a yoga class. We walked over to Home Depot to get light bulbs (sexy, I know) before we went over to Kelly’s to hang with Maya and Emma and eat some deep dish – yum! Then we popped up to the lake for the night and went for the most beautiful run on Sunday morning. My mom and I went to my cousin Jessy’s bridal shower on Sunday afternoon – which was so sweet! Then I worked on a fun project for a little in the afternoon (can’t wait to share with you soon!) and finally came home to prep for the week. Sheesh, that’s a lot! But I can’t tell you how good it felt to see Kelly and Maya and catch up. Friends are so important! And deep dish 😉
I’ve got a busy week lined up, but I think it will be a productive one. I’m going over to Nicole’s later this evening and I can’t wait to snuggle little baby Peter! He is the most precious! What are your plans for the week? Anything exciting going on?

Nice pics. Not a typical Lake Forrest looking home!
