Well hello there! How are you? Did you have a nice weekend? The weather here in Chicago was THE BEST. Seriously, people were flocking outside to see the sunshine because I don’t think we believed it still existed.
It’s been a while since I shared a “Life, Lately” post, so I figured I’d fill you in on some recent happenings around here!
I had dinner at Dixie with my mom on Friday night and DEAR LORD was it good. Imagine the most fattening, delicious, melt-in-your-mouth food and that pretty much sums up their fare. So good. Also, the decor was on point, so you know I was loving it. I snapped this shameless bathroom selfie – just look at the penny tile!!
Like I said, the weather was gorgeous this weekend. I tried to spend as much time as possible outdoors. I went for a run on Saturday morning, met a friend for coffee and took a nice stroll, and then spent the afternoon celebrating my dear friends Nicole and Joe who are expecting their first baby!! The shower was at her mom’s house in Oak Park and omg was it incredible (I snapped the above pic from her porch). We sat out on the porch all afternoon sipping San Pellegrino and just talking. It was perfect! Then we met up with some girlfriends for dinner at 90 Miles, where I’d never been before! I had no idea how much I could love an empanada until now.
Sunday I celebrated Easter with my parents. We went to St. Peter’s for mass, and then brunched real hard at the Union League Club. I’m talking chicken and waffles, plus bacon. So yeah, I was on a real health kick this weekend 😉 I snapped this shot of the CBOT on LaSalle Street – the view is one of my favorites in Chicago.
Tom had been visiting his family in Michigan, so we spent Sunday afternoon catching up on a nice walk. I love that man more than life itself <3. I was living for the sun on my face and bare legs! Dad and I squeezed in a quick yoga class at Corepower, and now I’m winding down for the night while I write this post. The windows are open, the breeze is glorious, and I couldn’t be happier. Something about needing the dark to appreciate the light – it’s like I’m coming out of hibernation and just really loving this springtime air.
Anywho, I hope you got to enjoy the weekend too, and are ready for a full week ahead! May your coffee be strong this Monday morning, folks 😉
