Well hello there! Are you recovered from the luxuriously long holiday weekend? ME EITHER.
Let’s distract ourselves from this dreaded Monday morning with a little holiday decor inspo for the boudoir, no? Oui.
When decorating for the holidays, not many people consider the bedroom. Which is to be expected, because who is going to put a Christmas tree or big bright lights in their cozy sanctuary? Time to think outside the box people. You CAN add some holiday vibes to the bedroom WITHOUT going gaudy. See exhibit A, this holiday bedroom moodboard I pulled together for your viewing pleasure.
Some tips:
- Stick with light and neutral decor (avoid the traditional red and green color combo and opt for something lighter and airier)
- Make your own eucalyptus garland (bonus: your room will smell AMAZE)
- Layer in some cozy buffalo check and plaid textiles
- Try adding some “mood lighting” with these starry string lights
- Your living room doesn’t need to be the only room with a tree in the house – try adding this tree for a little festive fun
How else do you guys incorporate holiday decor in your home?
In other news, did you enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday? Ours was wonderful, really. We had such a decadent meal at the Union League Club with my parents, and then we went to the movies and saw Allied (I cried like a baby, probably too much turkey). On Black Friday mom and I hit up Nordstrom. I didn’t plan to purchase anything really, but I managed to snag some warm winter boots (hello Chi-beria) on sale. Then we had a friend’s wedding on Friday night (congrats Dan & Molly!) and I spent the better part of Saturday and Sunday trying to cross off to-do’s and gear up for another week away from home for work.
Today I’m wishing I could press the “pause” button on life and curl up by the fireplace for a month. (Sometimes I think after I die I want to come back as a pet so my life’s main objective would be curling up on a cozy rug or bothering people until they scratched my ears.) I know things feel stressful now, but I have to remind myself there is an end in sight. One more week of class before our final presentations (YIKES) and then the holiday season is upon us! I am most looking forward to taking some time off work to relax and unwind with Tom, and spending quality time with my sister during her visit. Trying to really fill my tank with love and good vibes before the new year hits and I get buried at work!
What are you most looking forward to this holiday season? I hope it’s one of those years where life feels magical and full of love, no matter where you are or what you’re doing.
