Navy Gingham Button Down (similar here, here, here, and here) / Pants (the softest white pants of all time!) / Ballerina Flats (incredible dupe here, for under $100!) / Bag / Sunnies
First things first, I need to give a major shout-out to Tom. The man has taken such incredible care of me during this major transition and I could not be more grateful. Take, for example, how he made (and packed) my lunches for me last week. And cooked dinner every single night (ok, that one’s not new – but still appreciated!). He not only gives my the much-needed logistical support to get through each day, but he provides me with bottom-less emotional (and let’s be honest, mental) support too.
Ok, sappy speech over.
Today’s post is highlighting a major spring trend (and a personal favorite of mine): gingham. It’s the most perfect pattern because you can take it in every direction – preppy, trendy, edgy, classic – you name it!
So…… I had a pretty amazing weekend. The glorious, delicious weather had me dizzy with joy. We spent soooooo much time outside, and it felt so freaking refreshing. Cabin fever is a real thing, people. Especially in the brutal winters of the midwest.
I managed to dive into my final project for school on Friday night and I actually got a ton of work accomplished. Then on Saturday I shot a really fun project with Claire and Maya! Followed by the sweetest surprise birthday party for our friend and neighbor Pierre. His wife Kathleen even managed to fly his mom and sister in from South Africa to surprise him! It was just the best – he was totally surprised and it was such a wonderful celebration. (The fact that we were late and almost ruined the surprise is another story for another time 😉
Sunday was the absolute best. We met some of our favorite friends to grab coffee and hang out with their adorable baby! He is SO cute. We noshed and chatted away at kibbitznest with the front windows wide open. Honestly, it felt like the start of summer! Then Tom and I rode our bikes over to the lakefront in the afternoon, while I wrapped up my final project. The sunshine and fresh air was everything I needed to hit “reset” after my stressful last week.
I’m gearing up for another busy week at work, but trying to plan as much ahead of time so I stay ahead of the ball. Also our final class of the semester is tonight! Wish me luck presenting my project. I hope you all got to get outside and enjoy the weather this weekend too, and that it filled you up with the energy for the week ahead!
